"The Watcher in the Water"
Oct. 13th, 2017 10:40 pmHappy Halloween... Even if this is a bit early! :D
This one has been bugging me for a couple of months now, so I finally dropped my crowdwork long enough to finish it! I wanted a really chaotic feeling to this, so I used several paint styles I haven't tried before. I was aiming for an idea that kind of transcends the actual episode... The thought that the Watcher and Sam are like clashing forces of nature, while Frodo is a helpless soul just caught up in it all...

Date: 2017-10-14 04:11 pm (UTC)I was pleased with the way both of my generation 7 models turned out in this one. They're quite expressive!
The wonderful monster model is "Horror From the Deep" by Hawke Oshikai. The water splashes are Photoshop brushes.

Date: 2017-10-15 04:01 pm (UTC)I have a hobby animation on my mind, but the figures I used for this illustration can't be animated without a huge amount of effort. My 8th generation models should take care of the problem, but I am having to rebuild them from the ground up using different base mesh. We shall see how they turn out... :)

Date: 2017-10-15 04:14 pm (UTC)Last night I stuffed him down a 3D village well so he could pop out and surprise a character whom I dislike. Great fun! :D
I've been thinking lately about making some icons for folks. Unfortunately work has been getting in the way, but I'll try to get to it at some point :)
