"Shire Gates Frodo"
Dec. 2nd, 2017 08:51 pmMy new, animation-ready Generation 8 model, finalized in DAZ Studio. Carrara remains my favorite software to make still pictures, but the newest iteration of DS contains some amazingly easy animation software which I could not refuse-- especially since it's free! :D (Sam has already taken a test walk through the garden, carrying his watering can! :D )
I had to take my precious Baby Brother to the vet Friday, after trying to get him there Thursday and suffering a 'perfect storm' of vehicle breakdowns. We were finally given a ride by one of our farmer friends. Baby, who is my constant companion, has lost some weight and is itchy, and may be suffering from a thyroid condition... we will find out what the labs say Monday. Meanwhile, going back to the Shire has been, of course, very therapeutic and relaxing for me! :)
For those who are interested in these things, DAZ Studio and free models can be gotten here: www.daz3d.com
DAZ is an excellent way to start learning 3D, but like all 3D software, it is demanding on the hardware. I'm using a DELL 9010 Small Form Factor with the stock graphics card and 16 GB RAM with no issues. I do not recommend using less than 8 to 12 GB RAM with this software, as these models contain hundreds of thousands of vertices.
