I know. :) Surely they are the sweetest storybook characters ever written. I can recall only a handful of other such characters which have affected me like this, and none of them as strongly.

Thank you very much, Claudia :) For a long time I was hesitant to attempt this scene, because the lighting requirements were difficult, and I knew I would have to capture Frodo's face relatively well for it to work. But once I started, I was able to get a usable image fairly quickly. I'm glad I tried :)

This is very beautiful. I love how the light falls on Frodo's peaceful face and the ferns have that lovely golden cast. Wish this scene had been in the movies!!

I had anticipated that the lighting of this scene would be very difficult, but in reality it shaped up quicker than I thought possible. Part of it was sheer luck ^_^

I deeply missed this scene in the movie, too. A shot similar to this just a few seconds long, with Sam muttering something about "Too thin and drawn you're looking," would have gone a long way toward improving things.

I haven't said much here about the movies yet, because I have such a love/hate relationship with them it might be kindest to just keep silent. They reside in a whole 'nother department in the thrift shop of my mind ^_^;
