Frodo and Sam reunited at last in the Blessed Realm.  :)  

The little empty rowboat symbolizes Sam's life in Middle-Earth, which he has now left.  The glowing orbs represent various Valar, Maiar, and maybe even some Ainur, appearing out of the void to witness this extraordinary event.

I'd like to acknowledge here the incredible artistry of Meshbox, who crafted the geometry of the elven sailing ship.

The original image is much larger. If you right click, then 'save image' or 'save image as' you should be able to capture this at full resolution, which will show their sweet expressions more clearly, as well as the tears of joy which they are shedding.

Thank you for the kind compliments! :) I am also pleased with their expressions.

The light glowing between them was very enjoyable to make. The basic illumination was made by placing a point light between them before rendering, but I added more glow in postwork using layer masking.

I would like to think that instead of being mortal in the ordinary sense, Frodo and Sam could slowly become a single shining being of light. Not canon, I know, but such a pleasant idea :)

I particularly like the reddish-brown of Frodo's hair. I love EW's Frodo, but this is so sweet. :)

The reddish-brown hair got brought out so strongly in this pic by accident, when I experimentally ramped up the blue channel. I liked it, so I left it ^_^

Elijah Wood made a beautiful Frodo, so lovely with those big blue eyes :)

I've seen my version of Frodo pretty clearly for about 35 years. Oddly enough, even now I haven't fully settled on my own version of Sam. It's funny, since Sam's personality is so strong! ^^;
