"The Primrose" iRay render :)
Mar. 13th, 2018 07:58 amIn the language of flowers, primroses mean "I Will Protect You From All Harm." There could hardly be a more appropriate flower for these two. :)
iRay is quickly spoiling me for other renderers. I'm looking back at all my old stuff and realizing how much better it would have been if I had been willing to experiment a bit more with this renderer when it was first issued last year. Oh, well... Hopefully there will be a lot more pics to come!
This image features a half-finished Sam. I need a more sensual face for him now that I can render him in high definition, so I've started from scratch yet again. This face doesn't cut it yet, but it's fine for this pic. I like the lips and chin, but the eyes and brow need work. I may end up putting him into one of Victoria's skins too, as they have more detail around the eyes (see Frodo.) It doesn't help that I've never ever had a really concrete image of what Sam looks like-- when I think of him, I just see warm fuzzies! :)
I've gotten more control over the satin lining of Frodo's vest, which was giving me a lot of trouble. I can see the material shaders are going to be one of the biggest challenges of iRay. Lots more work to come before I really get the hang of this-- volumetric atmospheres and fog shading are next. At least Frodo's looking a bit more cheerful now. Sam will do that :)
